The Nursery and Club Routines

Morning Session
9.00am	Welcome children/parents. Circle activity.
9.15am	Small group activity.
9.30am	Child initiated learning time - in/outside
11.00am	Snack time.
11.15am	Child initiated learning time - in/outside
11.35am	Story/music and singing
12noon	Home time / lunch club
Afternoon Session
12.30pm	Welcome children/parents. Circle activity.
12.55pm	Child initiated learning time - in/outside
2.00pm	Snack time.
2.20pm	Small group activity
2:40	Child initiated learning time - in/outside
3.00pm	Tidy up time
3.10pm	Story/music and singing.
3.30pm	Home time.

At circle time we focus on the six areas of learning in the early years foundation stage curriculum:

personal, social and emotional development
communication, language and literacy development
problem solving, reasoning and numeracy
knowledge and understanding – Exporation & Investigation, Design & Making, ICT, Time & Place
physical development
creative developemnt – role play, imagination, art, music, dance

Small group activity:

Staff introduce theme work, new skills and experiences to meet the needs of individual children.

Child Initiated Learning:

Children are encouraged to plan and choose their activities. Staff work alongside small groups or individual children in order to stimulate thought and conversation, help children build their confidence, form relationships with adults and children and to develop concentration and extend learning.
